We are called Culturhouse of European Muslims, (KUDEM – Kulturhaus Der Europ\u00e4ischen Muslime). We are intertwined \u00a0with the science-based work of the Institute for Islamic Studies and Intercultural Collaboration (IFIZ&IZ).<\/p>\n

Our motto is: Living together instead of living side by side. Without integrating into a society a true acceptance of fellow human beings can\u00b4t be expected.\u2028The language of art breaks down borders between humans. Muslims in Europe are very dissociated from artistic activity and they haven\u2019t given their children the chance to create a sensiblety for the visual arts. Hence Islam doesn\u2019t only consist of religious theories, rules and prohibitions. Science and culture, an increased feeling for art and the possibility of self-knowledge have an essential meaning in Islam.<\/p>\n

We represent a mystically characterised ideology of Islam, thats aim is of peace and harmonious coexistence . The essential values of Islamic mysticism are love for people and the desire to be of use for each other.\u2028We first introduce the mystic Sufism as it was characterised and lived by teachers such as Yunus Emre and Mawlana Jalaludin Rumi. Here, coexistence is considered fundamental in order to establish an understanding between cultures and thus for every form of international understanding.
