The KUDEM Children’s Library offers more than 50,000 books in German, English, Turkish, Arabic and French. The books are chosen to be contemporary and suitable for children. First and second graders from different cultures are supposed to find literature that will help them in their linguistics -and reading skills. It is also meant to trigger a passion for classical and modern literature at a young age.
\nTeachers and educationists are also present for counselling and support. The KUDEM Children’s Library aims to be an open place where kids and youngsters can meet and communicate.
\nThe main focus lies in fostering their reading skills, as this is essential for further education and media usage. The access to a multilingual library gives the young readers an understanding about other languages and cultures. Events like reading circles and readings from authors also find their place in between the numerous book shelves. The KUDEM Children’s Library is one more project of KUDEM, which aims to enable access to art, culture, music and science to everyone in society.<\/p>\n

This project was initiated by Prof. Dr. H\u00fcseyin \u0130lker \u00c7\u0131nar who has been supervising and leading with his ideas and conceptions about the purpose of this library.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Classical children\u02cbs books from all over the world<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

During the creation of the list of books for the library it was of great importance to include all classical children\u02cbs books. Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. \u0130lker C\u0131nar, a team of experts have worked on a selective list of timeless German, English, French, Turkish and Arabic classics. With this selection offered in the library young readers have access to classical children\u2019s books from different parts of the world.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We actively want to promote reading with pedagogical strategies such as organising meet and greets with contemporary authors where children can converse with them. The reading circles at the KUDEM Children’s Library, which take place regularly, are a great opportunity for youngsters and authors to interact and get together.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Plans are made to improve the library even more, such as equipping it with digital tools like: a smartboard and interactive children books in order to support interactive learning. In addition to that, the library inventory will be collected in a child-friendly computer software, so that, at an early age, kids learn how to do literature research in libraries.
