On 1st July 2018, the Culture House of European Muslims (KUDEM) hosted for the fourth time an exclusive concert touching soul and mind. The renowned singer and artist Mustafa Doğan Dikmen enthused together with the KUDEM choir the sold-out concert-hall with a fascinating performance. Mr. Dikmen is considered as one of the most important and prominent representative of the Turkish-classic Sufi-music. Together with the KUDEM choir Mr. Dikmen presented selected songs and doxologies.
The KUDEM choir consists of young members of the KUDEM. The choir members prepared together with Mr. Dikmen themselves in bi-weekly courses in the techniques and subtleties of the Sufi-music. Mr. Dikmen, who is lecturer at the state conservatory for Turkish-classic music at the Technical University of Istanbul (ITÜ) and solo singer and program designer at the state radio channel TRT Istanbul. Prof. Çınar congratulated Mr. Dikmen and the KUDEM choir for their magnificent work and especially Mr. Dikmen for his engagement and contribution during the last years.
KUDEM represents a mystic interpretation of Islam. Through the universal language of arts, culture and science KUDEM wants to contribute to overcome frontiers and to highlight commonalities. The scientific work is done by the IFIS&IZ, Institute for Islamic Studies and Intercultural Cooperation. The overall project of KUDEM and IFIS&IZ is advised and accompanied by Prof. Dr. Hüseyin İlker Çınar (Founding Director of IFIS&IZ).
