Honorable Prof. Dr. Hüseyin İlker Çınar was Chair of Tafsir (Tafsīr) in the Institute of Islamic Theology at Osnabrück University. For many years, since 2004, he has been giving Islamic lectures (suhba) on essential topics about the heart and continues to enlighten us.
Imam Naqshiband’s statement: “our way is through suhba (the companionship)” explains in fact the instruction of our beloved Prophet (pbuh): “Religion is advice (or sincerity)”. Since 2004, every Saturday following the Asr prayer the Islamic lectures continue to this day. Compiled from The Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh), the Islamic lectures become a treatment for our spiritual diseases. The lectures also emphasize being set on the essence of tasawwuf like sincerity, sincere worship of Allah, piety, good manners and propriety, good morals, to serve humanity, consent and the worship of Allah. Scientific interpretations are made and afterwards are then linked with the pure and sincere worship of Allah highlighting the importance of unity between science and wisdom.
Believing that the pleasure in this world and the hereafter, is only reachable with the unity between mind and heart, and that only a mystical (tasawwuf) understanding that is far away from superstitions, based on the Quran and the Sunnah is acceptable, Honorable Prof Dr. Hüseyin İlker Çınar believes in a mysticism interpretation of Islam with a (tasawwuf) understanding according to its essence. With this spirit, with passion and deep love, praising Allah, he is continuing to hold “Islamic Lectures About The Heart” every Saturday at KUDEM, aiming to reach all those who seek to find their origin beyond the profane occupations and engagement, to gain the pleasure of Allah.
